Sumas School Board Names Educators for 1920-21

SUMAS, May 19. -- The school board has elected the following teachers: Mr. R. H. Farrand, superintendent; Miss Laura Foltz, mathematics, French and history; Miss Ruth Garrison, domestic science, and Mrs. Aubrey Wright, manual training; eighth grade, Miss Alta Spedding: sixth, Miss Alice Burns; fifth, Miss Josephine Olson; fourth, Miss Maude Hamilton; third, Miss Myrtle Parker; second and art, Miss Margaret Murray; primary, Mrs. Mary McDonald.
The board voted to pay the teachers by the year, making a schedule of salaries, the minimum in the high school being $1,200 and a raise of $60 a year for five years. The minimum in the grade is $1,060, and a raise of $60 a year for five years.
