Alumnae News

THE beautiful altar railing of Our Lady's Chapel is the gift of the Villa Maria Alumnae. The railing, which is of polychromed iron with imported marble top, was executed in California by the Baps. Instead of the usual gate in the center of the railing, leading to the sanctuary, there is a center standard in the gateway, made of ornamental iron with a bronze crucifix at the top. A heavy silk rope which serves as a gate is attached to the standard.

Unstinted praise is due to Miss Virginia Aichner, President of the Alumnae, whose untiring efforts made this handsome and costly gift possible.

Miss Bernadette Pfister and Miss Frances Lyons, both of '27, received the habit of the Sisters of St. Joseph last August.

Miss Catharine Chisholm of '25 and Miss Mary Franklin of '24, entered the novitiate at Villa Maria during the past years.
