JERSEY COMMENCEMENTS
LONG BRANCH HIGH SCHOOL.
Long Branch, June 16 (Special).—The twenty-third annual commencement of the Long Branch High School was held tonight at St. Luke’s Methodist Episcopal Church. The graduates were Margaret L. Jackson, Anne Emanuel, Minnie F. Hulick, Jennie T. Moore, Kathryne Mattie, Bella T. McCarthy, May Kirby, Cora M. Throckmorton, Harold A. Dennett, Wilbur R. Edwards, Randolph D. West and Nathan Wood.
The valedictorian was Kathyrne Mattie. Her essay was “The Voice of the People.” The diplomas were presented to the graduates by S. St. John McCutcheon, president of the North Plainfield Board of Education. Essays were read by Miss Jackson, Miss McCarthy, Miss Throckmorton and Miss Moore, and there were recitations by Miss Kirby, Miss Emanuel, Miss Hulick and Nathan Wood, and a violin solo by Wilbur Edwards. Christopher Gregory, the principal, made an address.
