YORK COLLEGE COMMENCEMENT
Nebraska Institution Closes Successful Year.

York, Neb., June 14.—York college closed its sixteenth year yesterday. Bishop T. C. Carter of Chattanooga, Tenn., delivered the commencement oration on the subject, “Man at His Best.” There were five graduates from the collegiate department: R. Earl Caldwell, A. B.; George E. Strickler, A. B.; Birdie L. Denison, A. B.; Emil A. Stendahl, B. C.; Henry L. Stillson, B. S. The graduates from the normal department were Milo L. Gollaher, Nellie C. Holt, Elizabeth E. Moyer, Gertrude Oldham, Cora Stewart, Viola N. Swanson, Bernice Van Gordon and Gertrude Warner. There were also twenty-two graduates from the departments of music, oratory and commerce.
Dr. Schell will continue at the head of the institution and Sareva Dowell, Frances Miller and C. S. Long will remain in the chairs of Latin and Greek, modern languages, economics and sociology, respectfully. Prof. H. C. Feemster, A. M. of Webb City, Mo., had been called to the chair of mathematics. Prof. L. G. Atherton, B. S. of the State University of Iowa, comes to the chair of natural sciences.
