Entire Day Given Up to the Graduating Exercises.

Hastings, Neb., May 31.—This has been commencement day at the Hastings Highschool. The graduating class this year, which numbered nineteen, is so large that the whole day was devoted to the exercises, which were held at the Presbyterian church, filled to its utmost capacity morning, afternoon and evening by the parents and friends of the young people. Prof. W. A. Clark of Crete delivered an able address upon “School Life and Real Life.” Superintendent E. N. Brown presented the diplomas in a congratulatory speech. Some execellent{sic} music was furnished by Prof. Rees’ orchestra, and vocal music by the pupils of the schools.

Those graduating in the Latin courses were:

Grace Albright, Mabel Bailey, Maud L. Bowman, James N. Brown, Frank P. Newmeyer, Ethel Shumway, Charles Stein, Wilson Stichter, Edwin L. Toble, Fannie B. Williams.

In the English courses:

Louse Carnahan, Will Clarke, Paul B. Dungan, Ida E. Gilbreth, Rose Hynes.
