Columbus, NE High School Class of 1893 Graduation
COMMENCEMENT AT COLUMBUS.
Thirteen Young Graduates Receive Their Diplomas for Good Work.
COLUMBUS, Neb., May 27.—At the commencement exercises held at the opera house last evening, ten young girls and three young men were given diplomas of graduation from the High school course, all acquitting themselves creditably. The names of the graduates are:
Ethel G. Gailey, A. Gertrude Schofield, Pearle B. Mosgrove, Charles E. Arnold, Maude M. McCray, Anna E. Brecker, W. I. Spice, Lillian E. Bushell, Nellie A. Nortin, A. May Borton, Bert L. Coolidge and Zura B. Morse.
President R. H. Henry of the board of education presented the diplomas. There were three scholarships from Doane college, the first to be given to the graduate whose average standing was the highest during the High school course which was earned by Miss Morse. Another for the highest standing in Latin during the last year, was awarded to Miss McCray, and the third, for the highest standing in mathematics, was given to Miss Schofield.
