Moreland Township, Montgomery County, PA High School Class of 1907 Graduation
ONLY ONE GRADUATED IN MORELAND SCHOOL
Special to The Inquirer.
ABINGTON, June 7.—In Moreland township this year the graduating class numbered just one young woman, Miss Mary Jane Bready. Because of this fact Miss Bready was literally valedictorian, salutatorian and essayist at the commencement exercises held last evening in the Willow Grove Methodist Episcopal Church. The class originally numbered three, but illness in one family prevented one of the girls from graduating and other circumstances resulted in a second member being unable to finish the course.
At the commencement Miss Bready’s part consisted of an essay. Other members of the junior classes of the High School took the parts usually taken in large graduating classes. Other students participating in the event were Miss Harriet Rutherford, Miss Rena Waldeck, Miss Emma Hobensack, Miss Marguerite Walton, Miss Ada Pierson and Horace Haupt.
The address to the “class” was made by Prof. Smith Burnham, and the presentation of the one diploma was made by Principal Davis.
