Miss Eva Christie Reid, valedictorian of her class, and winner of the Journal medal, was born in London, Ont., in 1879, he father being Dr. Thomas J. Reid, now residing at 2728 Emerson avenue N. In 1880 her parents moved to Iowa, and in 1885 to Anoka, where Miss Reid attended the usual graded schools preparatory to her high school course.
In the spring of 1895 Dr. Reid moved with his family to Minneapolis, and Miss Reid entered the North Side high school the following September. She has completed the English course with a final average of 92.785. Her strongest work has been in mathematics and science, although she has done notable work in literature, and is an accomplished pianist. She will probably enter the state university next fall.
