Spooner, MN High School Class of 1914
Four Girls Win Distinction of Being First Seniors to Graduate from Spooner High
(News Tribune Special)
SPOONER, Minn, June 3. -- Four girls, Agnes T. Eagen, Esther Mauze, Pearl M. Carrier and Hazel M. Ferrier share the distinction of being the only members of the first senior class to graduate from the new Spooner high school.
All four of the girls attended the Superior grade school and graduated from there as members of the first class to enter the new high school. Next year, according to present indications, there will be a graduating class of more than double the number of the class of 1914, and its roster will include several boys, but the coeds captured the pioneer honors of the school. Practically all the residents of the town attended the commencement exercises to do honor to the first Spooner seniors.
